Beyond partial control: controlling chaotic transients with the safety function

چکیده
Partial control is a technique used in systems with transient chaos. The aim of this method to avoid the escape orbits from region Q phase space where chaotic dynamics takes place. This based on finding special subset called safe set. orbit can be sustained set minimum amount control. In work, we develop strategy gradually lead any by using safety function. With proposed here, converted into global attractor Q.

Controlling chaotic transients: Yorke's game of survival.
We consider the tent map as the prototype of a chaotic system with escapes. We show analytically that a small, bounded, but carefully chosen perturbation added to the system can trap forever an orbit close to the chaotic saddle, even in presence of noise of larger, although bounded, amplitude. This problem is focused as a two-person, mathematical game between two players called "the protagonist...
متن کاملPartial control of chaotic systems.
In a region in phase space where there is a chaotic saddle, all initial conditions will escape from it after a transient with the exception of a set of points of zero Lebesgue measure. The action of an external noise makes all trajectories escape faster. Attempting to avoid those escapes by applying a control smaller than noise seems to be an impossible task. Here we show, however, that this go...
متن کاملPattern Recognition using Chaotic Transients
This paper proposes a novel nonlinear transient computation device described as the LTCM that uses the chaotic attractor provided by the Lorenz system of equations to perform pattern recognition. Previous work on nonlinear transient computation has demonstrated that such devices can process time varying input signals. This paper investigates the ability of the LTCM to correctly classify static,...
متن کاملPartial Control of escapes in Chaotic scattering
Chaotic scattering in open Hamiltonian systems is relevant for different problems in physics. Particles in such kind of systems can exhibit both bounded or unbounded motions for which escapes from the scattering region can take place. This paper analyzes how to control the escape of the particles from the scattering region in the presence of noise. For that purpose, we apply the partial control...
متن کاملControlling chaotic systems with multiple strange attractors
It is shown how chaotic systems with more than one strange attractor can be controlled. Issues in controlling multiple (coexisting) strange attractors are stabilizing a desired motion within one attractor as well as taking the system dynamics from one attractor to another. Realization of these control objectives is demonstrated using a numerical example, the Newton–Leipnik system. 2002 Elsevi...
